Sonnymoon – Just Before Dawn from Plug Research on Vimeo.
While Sonnymoon won’t be out until May 22, we’re getting a preview of what to expect here in the hypnotizing video for lead single “Just Before Dawn.” The dreamy two-part track serves as a soundtrack for hallucination-esque visual effects, which are complemented by the warm swashes of synthesizers, strings, and Anna Wise’s gorgeous voice.

Momentum is strong and Notic Nastic are propelling into 2011 with FULLSCREEN the fierce follow up to their debut release (it‘s dark but it‘s ok).
Drawing influence from the two vibrant cities they represent, New York and their current base Berlin, this band are not afraid to speak up and they intend to be heard. Chameleon like in nature Notic Nastic do not fit into any general mold.
New Young Pony Club’s Lou Hayter joined Mathias / Munk for this beautiful ballad from the last Munk album. New York photographer Hadley Hudson went to Paris, called up her model friend Bianca O’Brian and together they made this video at Hotel Amour. Hot video. Great song…

Below is the debut release by Bixiga70, a Sao Paulo afrobeat big band. Put together by musicians involved in the Traquitana studio which is based in the Bixiga neighbourhood in the centre of Sao Paulo, a traditional barrio considered by some as the birthplace of Samba. Afrobeat is something which has had a cult following in Sao paulo for a few years now, and I think this can be traced back to when Tony Allen visited here a few years back for a Red Bull Music Academy, since then key names have been name dropping Afrobeat in their influences, leading to now where there are a couple of Brazilian Afrobeat bands playing the live circuit. This is certainly great stuff, funky and groovy in all the right places.
