NEW VIDEO: NOTIC NASTI “CYANIDE”

Momentum is strong and Notic Nastic are propelling into 2011 with FULLSCREEN the fierce follow up to their debut release (it‘s dark but it‘s ok).
Drawing influence from the two vibrant cities they represent, New York and their current base Berlin, this band are not afraid to speak up and they intend to be heard. Chameleon like in nature Notic Nastic do not fit into any general mold.

NEW MUSIC: Bixiga70 (Man Recordings)

Below is the debut release by Bixiga70, a Sao Paulo afrobeat big band. Put together by musicians involved in the Traquitana studio which is based in the Bixiga neighbourhood in the centre of Sao Paulo, a traditional barrio considered by some as the birthplace of Samba. Afrobeat is something which has had a cult following in Sao paulo for a few years now, and I think this can be traced back to when Tony Allen visited here a few years back for a Red Bull Music Academy, since then key names have been name dropping Afrobeat in their influences, leading to now where there are a couple of Brazilian Afrobeat bands playing the live circuit. This is certainly great stuff, funky and groovy in all the right places.

NEW VIDEO: EL DUSTY “K LE PASA”

Sometimes when you hear a song for the first time, you know it will become a big success. Man Recordings boss Daniel Haaksman had the same impression when he saw the video to El Dusty ́s „K Le Pasa“. Haakesman knew the track was destined to become a tune many people would dance to.

In the video, a party gets out of bounds with girls grinding to a sexy cumbia groove and guys jumping up to the raw energy of „K Le Pasa“. Mixing up a classic Colombian cumbia melody, Texas based producer and DJ El Dusty created the ultimate Latin banger that brings together the best of Europe and South America.

El Dusty hails from Corpus Christi on the Mexican Gulf coast and has been Djing since ages. A manic record collector, his sets combine the best of electro, cumbia and rap, a mix which resonates in the powerful „K-Le Pasa“.

The track was mixed and mastered in Berlin by Jan Driver of Boysnoize Records for that extra big sound. Cumbia, Electro and a ready-to-party sound: This tune will light up many dancefloors and  radio stations this winter.
