About Us: Visions from the Roof was born out of Rooftop Promotion. Founded in 1999 with just a laptop computer, a cell phone and a passion for good music, the original idea was simply to promote music we liked, to have fun doing it, and offer the best service. These things have never changed.
With more than 25 years of experience, CEO Garo Kuyumcuovic has developed one of the most unique and effective promotion/marketing/licensing companies in North America with the best connections worldwide. In response to an overwhelming influx of requests, Visions from the Roof was created in 2006 to take over licensing and placement duties from Rooftop. The philosophy is very simple: real and genuine music-lovers dedicated to making life easier for music supervisors.
Visions now handles one of the most eclectic and desirable catalogs today with over 50,000 songs in all genres, covering nearly every decade of recorded music from every corner of the world. Visions’ mission is to make life easier by supplying music supervisor clients with an elite selection of songs tailored to their needs, not to carpet-bomb them with wishful thinking shots in the dark. Visions ensures that the clearance process is swift and trouble-free, with most titles available as a “ONE-STOP” for sync and master use.
A native of Germany, Garo Kuyumcuovic’s love of life and music is contagious. Before starting Rooftop Promotion and Visions from The Roof, he developed and created the EFA’s (Energy For All) Marketing Department Medien Distribution. As Managing Director of Marketing he successfully positioned in European and World markets great artists and labels such as: Bebel Gilberto, Built to Spill, Calexico, Corvus Corax, Das Ich, Deine Lakein, Fatboy Slim, Gerhard Polt, Hole, JBO, Joe Zawinul, LTJ Bukem, Maceo Parker, Rockers HiFi, Roger Hudson (Supertramp), Talk Talk, Tangerine Dream, Tortoise, Trilok Gurtu, Yo La Tengo, and many others. Garo never misses a day of yoga, bootlegs his own kambucha, makes fantastic minestrone soup and always seizes the opportunity to laugh and enjoy life.
Adam originally hails from Brooklyn, New York. Jen grew up in Orange County , CA in the quiet little city of La Mirada, the same place that spawned teen pop star Tiffany – La Mirada’s only claim to fame. Her favorite childhood memories include sneaking out of bed early in the mornings to watch music videos on MTV, a banned network in her household, and co-hosting her own radio station with her best friend, using a tape recorder and whatever was playing on the radio at the moment. An accomplished clarinet, bass clarinet and sax player, she has performed with The Brian Setzer Orchestra. After her studies at UC Irvine and Cerritos College, she discovered the only career she would ever be happy with was one in the music industry. She has a crippling obsession with Radiohead and The Office, and enjoys live shows, her Mini Cooper, getting new tattoos, and recording voice mail messages from random movie clips.
